lol... It takes a highly skilled professional 18 minutes to fix it apparently (if absolutely nothing goes wrong) and requires disassembly of a large part of the camera - including removal of the adhesive attached grips.
This type of a procedure is a disaster waiting to happen for the average DIYer.
Ordinarily I'm impressed with Canon design. However, the decision to mount the hot shoe from the inside seems colossally stupid. I simply can't imagine a good reason to design it this way.
