A few months ago I visited Moonscape Overlook. I got there in the evening and the wild was blowing the hardest I've seen in a long time. I car camp in my van and that night before bed I needed to pee and finding a location where I could was a challenge :-). In the morning the wind was still blowing, but not as hard as the night before. There was still a lot of dust in the sky as you can see on the horizon.

I love those deep shadows and patches of light creeping over the landscape. Nice timing.

Love the blue tones and the light kissing the peaks...but the cutoff section on the right leaves me wondering what's missing.

A stunning view with beautiful early morning light. I agree with Chez, that the right side of the frame could be cropped differently.

This location has become very popular so if possible plan on camping there. It is best at sunrise so I suggest you find your composition the night before so you will be ready the first thing in the morning.

The colors in that image are amazing.

I was there a week ago, middle of the day. I stopped by on my way to Capitol Reef since I was driving by anyway. It truly is a weird landscape, even for Utah. Most of southern Utah is various sandstone but this area I believe is more clays and they have different colors and hues from anywhere else. This area also has Factory Butte which might be more well known, and the Mars Desert Research Station.

I'm not sure if I should post my snapshots from my visit, partly because it was mid-day and partly because I don't compare to the other people who post here. My whole week in Utah it was very windy, and sometimes even windier than that. A camera on a tripod would not stand a chance of getting a sharp image, might not stand a chance of surviving without being knocked over.
