Nice job bobby ! #3 is awesome !
Sure wish we could have spent a little more time getting to know each other instead of staring off into space waiting on birds

Thanks Gary! That's the reason why we want you to come back for another visit! Having said that, a few of us were yakking away at the WTK place yesterday (instead of starring at a blank sky) and we totally missed a food transfer that was happening right above us! We looked up only when we heard one the kites screeching and flying away! We were all kicking ourselves, but we continued to talk while keeping an eye on the sky!

Ha ! That screech you heard was probably the Kite laughing at you for missing him You guys are so fortunate to have so many different spots to shoot. Not sure if you heard me tell Joshua but my daughter told us she's expecting in December so I'll most likely be coming out again sometime around then. Would love go out with you again !

December is a good time, Gary. We might be able to shoot the Cedar Waxwings, Hooded Mergansers, etc.

There is also the Western Grebes, the red foxes, and LA skyline with the snow-capped mountain range in the background. And with a bit of luck you may see the Mandarin Duck at very close range! Check out some of my Mandarin Duck images, etc here:

Holy smokes !! I've been checking out some of your thread wins, the red fox series is awesome, but seeing everything on that one page is really impressive. Amazingly beautiful work sir.
I don't want to wish away my short summer here but I'm really looking forward to my next trip out in December

Take your time to do so, Gary! Thank you for your kind comment. It was really a pleasure meeting you and shooting together with you. I am looking forward to the next adventure.

Here is a souvenir from our getting and shooting together….

Thanks so much for thinking to get this photo Joshua. It's a great momento for me and also a big help when I'm talking to people about the experience. I can not only show them who I'm shooting with but it also gives a good view of the site. That's something I never think to do. Hope we meet again !!

Hi Josh!

Nice to see you and Bobby having fun. That fourth image of the BO is stellar, I hope their populations will get better soon.

Thanks for posting photos of those cute owls and the triumphant proud kite! Looks like a lot of fun, but I have to agree with Morris about the bugs. They are mean to me.

Thank you very much, Shirley! Bigger bugs, like June bugs that they owls like to eat, are okay. I hate smaller bugs that bite, like those in Ecuador. Ouch...

Nice series and you even had the opportunity to shoot with an out-of-town FMer

I am looking forward to a bit more sun so the June bugs would come out.

Thank you for sharing.

dan

Thank you very much, Dan! Yes, the June-gloom weather we are having now is definitely not conducive for those bugs to emerge from the underground.

Good looking set, Joshua! My shots are really not much different to yours or Gary's. Here's 3 of the burrowing owls.

Thank you very much, Bobby! I didn't expect to see any difference at all.

Great set there, Bobby!

Hi Gary, the pleasure is mine! I hope we won't have any Covid restrictions or hesitations related to Covid by the time you come down this way again.

Juan, thank you very much! Yes, there are 2 burrows and one is really heathy with at least 5 owlets. I don't know how many of them will survive and grow to adulthood. At least, there is a chance and we are crossing our fingers...
