A series of a Cooper's hawk harassing a red-tailed hawk taken this morning. Fort Lowell Park in Tucson. The Cooper's and other birds have been quite active building nests and protecting territory. The Cooper's made at least two other buzzes of the larger hawk, which I saw out of the corner of my eye so I positioned myself in hopes of getting some action. Cooper came through!
Holly cr*p, these are amazing. #2 blew my mind, and then I saw #3 and #5, and the RT looks just plain scared in the last one. I've seen red-tails, both perched and flying, get harassed by crows many times, but nothing like this. Not likely that I would be able to see those claws with my naked eyes.

Well done, and thanks for sharing.
Thank you! The red tail took a few minutes to collect itself after this

You got well deserved Awesome, Amazing, Incredible, etc. so I’ll just say Bravo!
BTW - from the sequence it almost looks like it was not intended to hurt rather be a “gentle” reminder of some sort ;-)
Thank you! Yeh, the Cooper was just letting know who was boss.
