Fuji apparently did not plan for a 10 year production run. Surprise! They've kind of painted themselves into the proverbial corner with the base-10 serial numbers. Canon planned well using their A-Z base-26 system. Although the EF 300mm f/4 IS might make it to a 26 year production run unless they discontinue that one soon.
Fuji might be forced to update the 35 f1.4 and 60 macro this year just to prevent a serial number overlap. Or they need to change their numbering system. I vote for updating the lenses.
Worse (to me) is that Fuji's used a leading zero for year "2020". With completely numeric values I guarantee that will lead to data loss due to truncation at some point somewhere. "01234" will be trimmed to "1234". That will cause someone a headache sooner or later.
