Thank you! Interesting enough, when the F-22 was flying, I was standing 20’ from the two F-22 demo team official photogs, they had two cameras, I could tell the lens mounted on one of the cameras is a Sony 200-600, not sure what bodies they used, should have asked them.
Even though I'm currently test driving an R5/600III from CPS and only have 3 days with it, I still ran into situations where I just couldn't get the shot with that combo. So I used up some of my short time with the Canon kit to pull out my Sony kit and get the shots....I guess that tells you something

Hmm. Interesting. Hope you will post your detailed final analysis.
I shot my first air show yesterday with the A1 and 200-600 lens. Ran out of card space quickly shooting nearly 4K of photos with 2 type A CFExpress cards set on overflow. Used single battery, shooting for 3 hours, with pixel peeping and had 33% left. The ones below are a few of the ones I got to look at more closely.

Great stuff, Laslo! I just read that they cancelled today's show due to the weather. I plan to go to the airshow in Orange County, NY this coming weekend. That will be my last one for this year. The big one in Oceana next month just got cancelled due to COVID.

Some hummers from my yard this weekend.
Thank Doug, I had trouble with the ones closer in and flying parallel to the grandstand. Also could not get any where there was flame coming out the back. Nice hummers. Wish I had more birds in my backyard.
Laslo
Not surprised to hear this at all, but Canon folks will have much to say once you post the final analysis. Take care

No new lens, borrowed it from a fellow shooter who had both the 600 and 400 with him yesterday. I can tell you the hit rate for in focus shots on the swallows with that lens and no TC was uncanny. But it was a little too short at 400mm for the location I was at yesterday.
