Happy to report that I shot about 5000 pictures (will probably keep 20) at an airshow today, the battery was still at 50% when I was done, and the EVF didn't go black once, with the sun behind me to the right of my shoulder.
We were up north at kids baseball games Saturday and looking south you could see the cloud bank as we were enjoying clear skies. Buffalo weather sure keeps it interesting. We had about the thickest haze you could imagine, but everyone flew except the c-5 which had a mechanical issue. Better to not send a broken flying football stadium out into populated areas :-). Lots of people we spoke to on Sunday had been there Saturday as well and took advantage of the free Sunday offer. Wasn't over crowded and we were home by 5.

Thrilling to look at!
As Douglas knows I've never seen an air show. They must
be something to do before I die.
I went to another airshow on Father's Day, that was the best gift I got myself. If you hate crowds, Robert, then airshow is probably not your thing.
Some shots from yesterday, the A1 behaved perfectly, no EVF blackout at all even with the sun at the angle that could have triggered the blackout. Some of these were shot at f9, a mistake on my part. I forgot to change it back to f6.3 after I used slower shutter speed for the P-51.
With 30 FPS, the A1 is so easy to get shots like this.
Douglas I'm blown away literally (those afterburner shots) and figuratively!
Wonderful work and experience.
Thanks for getting me to an airshow!
Yeah crowds That what benzodiazepines are for
Another from our short jaunt to the Gulf Coast and another from the Atchafalaya NWR. Without
Louisiana we'd come home with nothing. Alabama and Mississippi gave us nothing but it was absolutedly
the wrong time of year for getting Flickrs in the deep south. I had to close on several properties during the winter months and that took away travel time.
