Went out to chase Short-eared owls yesterday. Got a few shots and when I put the card in to look at them in Lightroom, I noticed 444mm. Doh! I always check that but didn't yesterday. I checked every setting but that one. A1 and FE200-600
On a windy day in the refuge, myself and a bunch of other people were waiting for the short-eared owls to make an appearance. Sadly, it was too windy, but this Attwater Prairie Chicken made a surprise appearance. A guy said, "there's a bird on a branch, you should take a photo of it." I didn't think anything of it, thinking it was probably a meadowlark or a loggerhead shrike, one of the photographers walked back and said it was one of the prairie chickens. Well, that changed my mind, so I walked to 50 yards, at that time, there were like 15 people surrounding it, so I kept my distance with the 600. Nothing fancy, just an endangered species that we rarely see down here.
2 other people between me out of frame
6 other on the other side out of frame
8 others on the right side out of frame
Went to shoot SEOs Sunday afternoon, they were so far away it's ridiculous even for 840mm. I am not even going to bother to post those tiny files. Got to shoot some hoodies Sunday morning.
