A couple ISO 6400 images sent through Topaz...
A couple of years ago, I played with Sony high ISO images out of my a9 and a9II and found that my raw files with tweaking were on par with the jpegs SOOC. In other words, the Sony jpeg engine was really really good at dealing with high ISO images. These were mainly night HS football games with crappy lighting, but wonder if you have ever done the same comparison.
No doubt your raw tweaking and running through Topaz can provide really great results, but just wondering if you have ever done that comparison and your thoughts on it. Thanks,

Just my 2 cents
When you let the camera apply NR it is doing it for the entire image, which means you are losing some detail in feathers/fur (when talking wildlife). Topaz (and you can do this in PS with layers etc) will selectively apply NR and does a really good job at identifying what to apply NR and not (and you can dial that in more with masking).
In my opinion feather/fur hide noise well (at reasonable high ISOs) so there is usually little need to apply NR to those fine detail areas. Of course everyone has their own opinion and way of handling noise so it’s a bit subjective. Also, the subject matters a lot.

The B&H site says expected availability is April 6. Is that bogus information? Perhaps they mean 2022.
I’m absolutely kicking myself for not pre-ordering as I did for all other previous camera releases after the A7R. I had erroneously assumed that, at a $6,500 price point, the demand would not be that high and I waited to see what the dynamic range & noise characteristics would be like for the A1.
I have read comments about Pro Support members getting first preference. Since I am a member, will that help?
Thanks,
Jeff
Call SPS. The links don't work but they can contact the retailer for you, which is what I did an I now have the Alpha 1.

Eye focus stayed locked while these two battled.
During the heat of the moment, I am not paying much attention to the Eye-AF indicator. It is hard for me to do so for whatever reasons. I am fine with that as long as the eyes are in focus in the actual file, however .

Has anyone who kept the A7RIV after buying the A1 now thinking about selling the A7RIV because it seems unnecessary to keep it now?
I sold a copy, my spare copy, but I am keeping my work horse copy as my backup. I will still be using that for landscape, macro, portraits, etc. But I will be selling my A9 II soon.
My favorite is clearly the first one, brilliant drama, but then I know nothing about bird photography so please excuse me if I have picked the wrong one.
