p.2 #4 · Batis 25 f/2 vs Sony 24 f/1.4 - Upgrade Questions
Very little reason for the batis, mostly price and size. It’s a PITA selling of old gear.
The 24 GM is arguably the best 24 ever made. The bokeh is buttery smooth, sharp wide open, size is extremely reasonable. Those three factors combined are a major reason the lens is so compelling. Has it missed out on one factor, it wouldn’t be so hot IMO.
I find the colors very pure, no less than Zeiss? Not so pure color would be the consumer lenses like the 28/85, the GM is cleaner.

Price and size are two very big reasons. I've not owned the two at the same time, but my guess is that that as a landscape lens, the Batis may be a shade sharper corner to corner. Their performance is, I think, very similar. The Loxia is better than both as a landscape lens. I own the Loxia and sold the 24GM for that reason. If I wanted a fast AF 24/25, I'd go for the GM. I don't, that's the role a 35mm plays for me.
We're really spoiled...the 24/25, 35 and 85 focal lengths have enough solid options that it's really tough to go wrong.
