I have probably posted most of these somewhere here on FM at some point but I don't think I have ever poster these together. Some formal, some street, some environmental, but all portraits.
You have Allen! I remember a few vividly!
I love your processing and of course the exposures are tack sharp. I think "character" is the word I am looking for in describing all these images!!
Well done Marine!!
Semper Fi!

Great variety Allen! Your varied styles match the subjects.
Tell me about the last one. Is that a nurse's uniform? I'm noticing all the hand embroidery on the collar.
Yeah she is a retired nurse. IIRC the caps indicated the nursing school that they attended. It was shot with a 500 C/M and a 180mm Sonnar lens. One key light feathered and a reflector for fill. I placed her to the right in the frame to show that her career was behind her and that the majority of her life was also behind.

That is correct. Each school has their special cap. My wife is a certified nurse-midwife/nurse practitioner. She is also a tenured professor and now serves as the director of the school of nursing at a nearby university. Under her guidance, her programs have the highest passing rate of any school of nursing in the state of Georgia. She was honored by being inducted into the Florence Nightingale Society. The induction ceremony was held at Westminster Cathedral, London. As busy as she is, she still has time to tell me to pick up my socks from the floor.
Allen, Some really well done portraits. I don't really know the profession or uniform of the third to last image, but it is by far my favorite. I love the lighting, that he is looking out of frame, the hat, collar, ribbon like tie, but it is the serious face that is so compelling.
