A few photos of my daughter in my home studio since I'm still not back open for clients yet! As always, thank you for looking and C&C always appreciated.

The lighting, posing, styling, and overall vision are really excellent. The only thing that stands out to me as a negative is what I can only assume is processing done to the skin on her face, which looks overdone.

She's a cutie! #7 is my favorite. I agree with Daniel, retouch is a little strong.

Dawn, I see from your website that this is representative of your style. The first time I ran into negative masking or anti vignette was a french fine nude photographer about 25 years ago. Usually there is a part (the most important part of the subject) that emerges completely from the mask to add even more emphasis to the image. Everyone of these are good images; the styling, lighting, expressions, but the masking leaves me frustrated. Some colors are really off on the feet, background, and her face never pops out from behind the masking. My opinion only - so please don't be offended. My guess is that your clients are happy, and that is all that matters.

Thank you all for your comments and critique! I will try to lay off the skin processing a bit. Admittedly, sometimes i leave little attention to extremities that aren't the face (legs and feet definitely tend to be neglected by me). I tend to prefer a "flatter" look to my portraits with only the face truly emerging from textures and darkening vignettes, but I can appreciate that no one likes grey legs and toes! I'll be mindful in the future.

Thank you all again for taking the time to look and comment.

Dawn, your daughter is adorable and your images are exquisite! I have seen plenty of your images and that’s your style. As long as your clients are happy, then stick to what makes them happy.
