My main interest in photography is creative portraiture, but when I first began shooting I was really into fashion photography. I don't do fashion shoots often, but sometimes I will collaborate with my friend Bobby when he makes something that I want to photograph. Here are a couple of my favorites from a recent collaboration with Bobby and a beautiful model named Favour.
(2) is *really* special. I mean, magazine-worthy. The tonality and detail captured without going into "HDR mode" is tough in this situation, but you pulled it off brilliantly. DoF is spot on, and the framing and POV pleasing.
(1) looks like an outtake, especially when compared to (2). Her hand is in an awkward position and the light on her forearm is distracting. Face is too dark to be compelling, IMO.
Agree with Greg (gheller) and will add that #1 has a few light issues. Bright background lights behind her and an overly bright patch of light on her right side from hip to elbow.
Loving #2, although I'd crop much of the bright sky above her head. Keep her face as the prominent bright feature. The pose is very good and the foreground mound she's standing on is a plus.
I love #2 also and Greg and Jim have valid points to ponder.
I love afros(might not be considered a true but I don't know), whether true or "like" and she wears it most excellent!!!!!

Thank you, and thanks for taking the time to critique. Yes, the first has an outtake vibe to it and has more low key lighting, and these are two of the reasons as to why I like that shot so much and it ended up being a favorite.

Daniel these are two beautiful images. Focus and processing spot on. Your model excellent, and able to really change her look. In the first see appears a little shy, and the second very confident. Well done.
