p.1 #1 · Tony & Chelsea Northrup Pissed They are Being Called Out for Their Sensationalizing/Trolling Alpha 1 Videos | |
Check out the comments from Tony & Chelsea Northrup in the PetaPixel article that called them out for their sensationalizing/trolling with their Sony Alpha 1 videos. Tony & Chelsea REALLY don't like people pointing out they intentionally sensationalize/troll/put misinformation into their videos to get bait clicks. I haven't seen anyone here remotely even think Tony & Chelsea are anything but panders of misinformation for their own benefit. And Tony is really gung-ho and calling the kettle black in his first comment. Tony, how much misinformation and "mistakes" have you done in your videos you never own up to?

"Editor’s Note: A slight adjustment was made to the language used to characterize Jared Polin’s video."
Jaron mischaracterized Jared's video and he's now changed it, but Jaron still doesn't acknowledge that he made a mistake. The word "slight" seems to minimize It. Jaron misrepresented Jared's conclusion as being the exact opposite of what Jared said.
And adding a note to the bottom of an existing article will not reach ANY people who read his original, serious error. Jaron, take responsibility for your mistakes and the damage you've done to Jared's reputation. Make your correction at least as prominent as your original mistake.

"More recently, Tony Northrup published a video directly comparing the Alpha 1 and the R5 in portraits, sports, and wildlife."
Chelsea Northrup also posted the video. I'm the woman part of the video. My name is in the channel name. I've met you many time at press events. Remember?
Also, why are you policing the content we make. We do what we think is interesting and what our viewers and friends say they're interested in. If you don't like it make whatever YOU think is good and leave other people alone.

Yes, I don't understand why you would erase me as a person when I'm in the video, the thumbnail, and am in the channel name.
Whats more concerning to me is that you think my idea isn't valid. Based on what? Why do you think your opinion of what I deem interesting even requires an article? You're the editor of the largest photo blog and you're using the platform to, all at one, erase me and undermine my ideas.

The Sony a1 and the Canon R5 are flagship mirrorless cameras from the two biggest camera manufacturers. They're both full-frame, 45-50 megapixels, human/animal/bird eye AF, 8k video and high-speed silent shutters. They are the only two cameras in existence with that set of specs.
Chelsea suggested we compare the cameras because Chelsea has chosen the R5 as her daily shooter, and she wanted to see if the a1 would outperform it for the types of photography she does. Chelsea is the woman in the video, FYI (you don't seem to have seen her).
Compared to the R5, the a1 is different in some key ways. The a1 has a 30% higher price, a 50% higher max FPS, and an ethernet port. Those aspects target the 1DX and D6, but those cameras have completely different form factors, weatherproofing, resolution, framerates, and they're DSLRs. They lack an EVF, sophisticated eye AF, 8k video, tilt screens, and silent shooting with the viewfinder. I'm sure someone will do that comparison for the handful of sports shooters and journalists who buy their own gear and are considering a major investment in 2021, but it feels very apples-to-oranges to me.
Jared, want to team up and make a video about questioning Jaron's blog topic choices?
