Smelly was talking about cleaning his sensor. Here's my share of the problem! I didn't realise it until i'm viewing the full size images. Most of my shots were taken stopped down to f/16.
Rocks along the Yellow River (longest in China)
Note the 2 dots of dust in the sky!
My goodness. If it's f16 and show up dust, then you've got to get out a big pump and get it out.
Zane, it is a big setup. They've got umbrellas, backgrounds, a mock WRC car etc etc. and for tonight, some more catering so the office smells like a kitchen.
Sure, If you use camera raw from PS, under the tab "lens" you can actually correct chromatic aberration by sliding those sliders. It's best if u zoom into a peripheral part of the picture with the greatest contrast where CA is worse, that was with the 17-85 (although with the L lens it was quite minimal, so this process actually wasn't necessary). C1 pro should have a similar function, i think.
I was trying to do everything handheld but light condition didn't allow me. I was about to pack up and go but suddenly I've decided to go BLURRRRR....
Tell me what you think:
You could always enter one in this months MA I like the 1st one best
A question how do you reply to a post with the tan colour text from the original poster
40GB for $549US is expensive, I think adorama is selling it for about $499, same price as the Epson P2000. Some say the Giga Vu Pro has a lower res screen than the P2000, but is more readily available. I couldn't wait for the P2000, so I bought the X Drive VP6210 before I went overseas last (but forgot my receipt for GST refund at the airport ) The VP6210 is not bad, transfers are fast, but don't expect to view photos on its LCD - resolution is really bad comparing with the camera's LCD
What the I thought the whole point was that you were going to claim the GST back
I don't think res matter that much for me. As long as you can see roughly what it is and it's in the HDD, then it's just a reassuring tool. Not to show friends and family of what you just took with it. That's what a computer is for.
Having said that... I think the next move is a P2000. one day
Smelly, you won't know what it feels like the moment I found out at the airport that I forgot my receipts for vp6210, 580ex, 10D...just dont think about it now...
I agree: "see roughly what it is and it's in the HDD, then it's just a reassuring tool"
I saw the VP6210 in hk, which costs just a little bit less than in australia. The guy at the shop wasn't particularly helpful and it wouldn't read crw until u upgraded the firmware, so i didn't end up getting it. Got a USB HD without an lcd instead. I think it's pretty reliable, but it's not as reassuring as one with an lcd. Transfer speed was very good, 5min 1Gb with the extreme II card. Costs half the price compared to the xdrive!!
I have a small celluloid plate that I place lens tissue around and dampen with Isoprople Lens cleaner and wipe once and once only 1 side to the other then move the tissue to dry.
CAUTION this may not be suitable to all but works for my. Nikon DO NOT recomend this method BUT this is what was recomended to me by a Pre-eminent Nikon Wildlife Photog from the states, who incedentaly will be out here again this winter.
Zane.. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... I would be spitting chips if that happened to me. I triple check my luggage and receipts before going anywhere.
rwwlee.. bargain with them!! say they put in the updated firmware and you buy it! I'm sure places like Fortress and Broadway would be kind enough to do it for a sale. That's why you pay a premium to go there.
Smelly I know...it was like I've just dropped my 20D on a concrete floor ... heard the bang!!!
Maurie, thanks for the tips. Ed showed me a similar method but with lens cloth, a cut up credit card and no solution. It has been a good method so far but everytime I do it, I wish I have a better method...sorry Ed...it's just too scary sticking something onto your sensor
Richard, the vp6210 I bought from powerinnumbers.com.au has the latest firmware which reads raw files but doesnt provide thumbnails, you got to press enter to go in view each individual pic to find out what it is.
