If it's old Parliment House, then it's not too hard to figure out how to get there. I know how to get to the new one so the old one is just "around the corner" from it...
I don't think I will be going to the Balloon Fiesta this weekend because it's going to be the last weekend before my trip and I got a pile of work I have to go through...I probably just do a sunrise this weekend
JALDIGITAL:
Dear Zane,
To transfer 1GB card to the unit takes approx 5min. The resolution is about the same as 20D LCD.
Thanks

POWERINNUMBERS
Hi Zane,
Thanks for the email. First of all I sold lot of VP6210 to pro photographers - and some I saw in my shop in Melbourne were very impressed with quality of LCD and speed. I can assure you that you will be satisfied no doubt about it. And even if you zoom in - you get perfect picture.
It would take about 7/8 minutes to transfer 1 Gig CF card - which is very fast in comparing to previous units.
If you have any further questions please e-mail back.
Best Regards

Just a thought, why don't u get it in HK? I'm sure they'd sell it there. I've never really looked for it there but I "guess" u can buy anything in MongKok.
The thing is i'll have to load the firmware to view raw, not sure whether i'll be able to do that when i'm in hk. Maybe i could preload the upgrade into a CF card first? is it how it's done to upgrade?

There are thumbnails you can view though. Shoot in full raw and full JPG and it'd be right until you can get access to a PC in HK or get the store to do an update for some $$. They'd fall over backwards to do your business.. to a certain degree but I'm sure places like Broadway and Fortress can do it for free since they charge a slight premium.
When I was there last time, my gf and I bought a cheap HP1710 PDA and the guy there spent a good 30mins putting on the protective cover and gave a 128Mb SD card there and spent another 30mins taking off the barcode with a hairdryer. That's how dedicated they were in doing the business.

But the 300D only allows you to shoot embedded jpg, so i'm not sure whether you can actually view them without the upgrade. I think the hd upgrade is done similar the the camera. I'll check their site.
Btw, Sunday will be out for me now. I've got a function to go to on Sunday.... Plus I didn't really want to get up at 2am to start driving to the Nation's capital.

Thanks for the previous advice. I'll look for one in hk. I've got the hack for the 300D, can get 79 RAW+normal small jpg on a 512 card.
You'll need more CFs. 79 in China... you'll burn thru that in the morning. Oh, let us know how "safe" it is to carry such a big camera in China. I haven't carried a camera into China yet because of what my uncle told me about safety but this was 5 yrs ago. Probably hasn't changed though.
I carried a little minolta 7Hi into China two years ago. I stuck it in a little shoulder bag and had no problems at all. I'm not sure if I'd want to lug a backpack around with me there, though.
How does the saying go? "If you can see it, it's yours, if they can see it, it's theirs" (?)
