I think to get the best results you'd have to build a shroud or hood that sits flat against the glass. Otherwise you'd probably get internal reflections.

I'm in, just have to see how the weather is tonight

Forecast for Wednesday
A shower or two, chiefly morning and night, but lengthy periods of fine weather. Mild to warm with a mix of sun and cloud. Moderate east to northeast winds, fresh near the coast.

Precis: Brief shower or two.

City: Max: 23

Just to let you know I was lucky enough to be involved in the refurb at the Shangri-la and stayed back on a couple of nights. At the time I only had my 50mm lens so nothing to wide but the view is amazing and would love to get back there with what I have learnt since I have had my 20D. I have also worked in the Quay West and think the balconies and angles to the bridge are a lot better

Hi Folks,

The Tamworth Country Music Festival is just around the corner. I was wondering if anyone is planning on going?

Whilst I am definitely not a country music fan (listening to too much as a young lad) I have considering going. It is only a 50 minute drive for me.

If anyone was going it might be a chance to meet another FMer. Plus if you are covering anything there and need a hand I would be interested in helping out.

Cheers

Hi Guys, Happy new year, and many more to enjoy! (and capture!)

As you were having a discussion on a decent balcony, it reminded me something similar:

http://www.viator.com/tours/Sydney/Sydney-Twilight-Helicopter-Flight/d357-3293SYDTWILIGHT

or the same with more info:

http://www.adrenalin.com.au/helicopter_scenic_flight_sydney_scenic_twilight_tour_68_details.aspx

I think, if you compare the value of this and the bridge climbin' (which price is in the neighbourhood) then you should come up with the answer reasonably quick

Smellytofu, this cashback was on the purchases between 1 nov and the 31st dec 2006. You had to buy a body to claim your cashback on the lens. I did enter to this, however i've bought the body and the lens in two different shops. I've submitted the barcodes and receipts, yet i haven't received no money yet. Is it because i haven't bought the stuffs in one shop on the spot? The terms and conditions doesn't say it has to be this way. Now i don't think i will receive any cash back. They seem to do what they want. I've spent my money and that's good.

Don't sweat it YET, Zab. I bought all my stuff in the same store and I have not seen my rebate yet either. I might start checking into it in a week or so.

Give me until the end of January and then I will start sweating! Need it to help with the initial repayments.

So does that mean it's time to buy? or time to wait and see what's coming?

I think the latter.... see what the 5D2 has to offer... and I hope it's this dust removal thing-a-ma-jig. That'd be cool!

Mind you I cleaned my sensors for the 2nd time ever with the sensor brush. There wasn't THAT much dust in the 1 year since I last cleaned it. (and I don't use the blower either).

Some shops in HK are still asking for $20800 for 5D when I was there last week . If the RRP for 5D is 18800 in HK, I think you can possibly pick up a GREY 5D for less than $15000 (AUD$2500) - don't quote me though
