It's odd that the bridge lights were off as it loses shape.
I assume the bridge light show will be a nightly event for the rest of Jan. Anyone planning on shooting it?
Happy new year.
Not sure but part of the light show has something to do with the 75th anniversary of the bridge so I am guessing it will run on. Last year was a bit
different as the "heart" was originally just hired/leased for one night and they negotiated to turn it back on for a week.
14 hours Smelly was it worth it maybe we should put together as a group and hire a room in the Quay West for next year. They have 2 room apartments with balconies. 4 on each balcony @ $150-200 each should cover it.
Here the view from the hotel next door (Shangri La) http://www.PhotoShare.co.nz/PhotoShareGallery1/100747/104946/NothSydney1946_S.jpg
Chris, yes, Ed and I was discussing it as we wasted the 14 hrs. If it was $200 per group/couple, then it'd be worth every cent and not sitting on hard wooden "seats", expensive sausage sangers and toilets where you had to wait 30+ mins.

I do not know how far in advance you would need to book but I think it would be worth ringing around
Just rang the Quay west their rooms with a balcony are the one bedroom ones and were $755 for the night (last year 2006) they take bookings in July. The 2 bedroom was $975 but no balcony

It'd be balcony or nothing... reflections off the window just make it next to impossible to take any photos.
Yeah it is a lot better although all the above were through the windows

as Smelly said, worth every cent.
Anyway, here's my contribution(s) for this year...
