First time on this thread (usu. hang out on the alternative DSLR thread), but am making contact. Had no idea that there were so many Australian FMers! Regards to all, Kit

Sri Lanka was fabulous but it has left me with a Camera and lenses full of dust, can anyone make suggestions as to a good place in Sydney to get them cleaned and calibrated. My wife will be back in NSW in July and (cringe) she'll take them back then. A rough idea of the cost would be helpful too.
Dicky nice idea but cost is slightly prohibitive and it might seem like nit picking but it is a little long on the short end and short on the long end .. Give me a 10 - 600 f1.8 IS USM L with guaranteed perfect shots everytime. Oh and it has to weight less than 1 Kg. Not much to ask for really. Didn't change lenses just used my 75 - 300 but external dust was a real problem. Dusted it down before putting it to bed, but still a little paranoid about the dust getting into it. But it does look well travelled now.
Ed thanks for the advise on where to take it for a good bath and check up. It'll get all done around July.
Those steps are really quite amazing, there have been so many permutations of inventive and evocative images taken there...I think it's gotta be a favourite of many photographers. Well done!

actually, unless there are huge gobs of crap sitting on the rear element, I wouldn't bother servicing it - you won't see any difference in image quality.
Who are you guys getting to do your framing? I've previously been using CFL framing up in the Central Coast (Erina) but I can't be bothered driving that far.
I've got some university degrees I want to get framed properly so any help that you guys can give will be good.
One of my Friends has a home framing business maybe he can get you a good price. (Note: he used to have a shop but didn't get enough business so he is running it from this home)

He does all framing including mountings, this guys lives in Carlingford. If you talk to him, sometimes he is willing to pick up and drop off, depending on distance.
"Just be wary of the cheap cheap CF, and I recommend all people buying from dodgy vendors, try to format the card in their camera before agreeing to buy it..."
dodgy vendors sell dodgy cards, non-dodgy vendors won't let him format the non-dodgy card before he hands over the money, this guy will never again buy any dodgy or non-dodgy CF cards....
