oh good...that means i don't have to do any changing to the ratio as i am printing DSLR photos. do you know what they do to funny size photos? say if i have some square format or panorama photos? do they crop it or print everything and leave white borders around the photo?
thanks for the info, mate
The Fuji Frontier printer most places use only does the standard sizes no panoramic printing. On the two below panoramics (3 to 4 images joined together) I added a border so it can fit on a 10" x 15" paper.
For a DSLR with a 2:3 aspect ratio, the following paper sizes would be suitable if you don't want cropping:
4x6"
8x12"
10x15"
12x18"
16x24"
20x30"
For photo sizes like 5x7" or 8x10" you have to crop regardless if you are using a P&S or an DSLR.
On smugmug (the hosting site I use) they can do just about any size including square, but they still don't have a panoramic option even though thet use EZprints.com for their printing. See here for a list of paper sizes available: http://www.ezprints.com/ezdirect/products.asp
Hi Guys, Just sat and read through most of the 380 odd pages of threads. thought I would say Hi. I am an Aussie expat working/existing in Saudi. Reading about the normal day to day stuff you have been saying adds to the "I wanna go home" feelings. I have a Canon 20D and a couple of lenses, which I got to replace a very very tired Canon T70. Still on a huge digital learning curve. I fix planes as a day job and have a few minutes of life left after work to share between Family, Photography and Video Editing. Taking Pictures out here is awkward to say the least as the locals are rather touchy about Cameras. So I spend time wandering around the housing compound where I live snapping all sorts odd things..just to get in the practise. I will be back to keep up with the "normal" side of life regularly.
Very little real news from home so I tend to soak up as much as I can.. I do not have a website where I have pictures posted, that is one of my aims for the next few months, to get a place to post pictures. If you are interested I can email some of my photographs to anyone who is interested. I have my email address up now.
I had about 20 photos to print at Harvey Norman using their 15c each deal and they told me it's a 3.5 week wait ! They have even switched off the kiosks as they have run out of storage room. Ended up geting them done at digital city for 29c.
