Check out Foto Riesel (Camera House) on Kent Street. Tell them I sent you and they will charge you 10% extra
But seriously they're pretty good. Mick there also runs a pretty cool workshop from time to time.
If you find yourself going to G&V on George St... go back to the pub. After a while the urge will pass. (sorry - personal gripe ) Paxtons on George St will do in a pinch if you need a roll of film or a filter etc

Last time I went there was just before Christmas. I wouldn't be too surprised if they're shut down, though. Fletchers have some of the most unhelpful staff out of all the big camera stores in town.
Actually, you get a pretty amazing difference in service levels when you go there with a 1D and when you don't. The same thing happened when I went to G&V.
I think everyone needs a 1D.
Do you get a better discount when carrying a 1D too? What about bringing all the L lens there at the time

It's much better.. still, the luggage straps still haven't been able to hold the arm steady enough for 1/2 sec shot on a smooth road.
Getting better smelly, did you have to use a ND filter to get that shutter speed?
OK, after laps and laps of Mrs Macq Chair looking for a car spot, managed to get there but the south plion again isn't lit up... best to get there around 10 I think when parking becomes more available.
Thanks.. I am not happy with the red though. It's not RED enough without PSing it in... I might try a few other tricks with the camera and then muck about with it in C1 Pro.
Are the outside 2 rings orange I can not remeber any orange when I was there. Although each time you went to take a photo the thing would change I do not know how many different cycles it has. I arrived b4 the movies started on the big screen and parking was no problem. Screening starts at 8-30 pm so I would have been there about 1/4 to 8
It's red I think. The long exposure just pushed it to orangey looking. You're right about the times. I think getting there just before sunset would be very nice there.
Nice shots guys. I particularly like the very last photo with the cinema screen Chris.
Welcome Teon and IT guru!!
Teon, you may want to try to order from Discount Digital. Their grey stocks can be picked up from North Sydney - http://www.d-d-photographics.com.au/index.htm They dont have a showroom and you got to know what you want first.
