Saturday Lantern Night 2005
Venue: Greenway Park, Shepherds Lane, Cherrybrook
Time: 5:00 pm
The main feature of the Lantern Night, now known in the community as the Chinese Lantern Festival, is the spectacular lantern procession led by the lion dance. Other attractions are a food fair, fun rides, Chinese dances and songs, children's performances, school bands, fireworks and much more.
As demonstrated by the previous festivals, this is a family event. The food fair starts from 5.00 pm, stage performances from 7.00 pm, and fireworks from 9.00 pm. Please invite your friends and neighbours to come. Admission is free.
The Chinese Lantern Festival is usually held in October each year during NSW's Children's Week and takes place in Greenway Park, Cherrybrook. In the case of inclement weather, it is held inside the Community Centre in Greenway Park.
Lantern with candles can be purchased at the park on the day. A raffle with attractive prizes usually takes place. For up to date information check www.ccca.asn.au
