p.1 #1 · Detective Hammer I swwear I never left my room!
Congratulations to John Webb for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 2 votes - View Previous Winners
Moody feel in a alcove of the sitting room of a Victorian B&B. Natural light from window camera right bouncing of the cream colored walls while direct light backlights curtains and gives the overall redish tones.

Stunning evocative portrait. The hair, makeup and styling are all really well done as well. The posing is just a tiny bit awkward to me, but it's minor. The lighting is great too. Did you use fog for the atmosphere in the room, or is that editing?

Thanks, no fog, atmosphere is in post , raising the black point of a curves layer to impart a matt feel.

John, this image ticks a lot of boxes for me. You certainly did well here.
Just two minor points, first is the one Greg brought up about the lighter, white looking part of her dress at her left elbow and the darkish part of her leg towards the edge of the image. It seems that it lost colors or desaturated, too and not only darker. But this is a minor point though. I hope you don't mind my pointing that out.

Love everything about this.
Only thing I would edit is the dress on her left hip. Looks white. It really draws the eyes away.

Thank, Will have to look at the original image as I don’t recall applying any desaturation.

Hey John I like your work, you have a way of showing enough and not too much and capturing the beauty and the allure in your models, a fine balance of interest.
Viewing this on a small screen all I first saw was the fine warm light and the beauty in her face and sultry look, scrolling down well you also highlighted some graceful and pleasing curves, tastefully. This is not an easy one to try to comp it differently, arms hands and legs all are a bit in confusion but somehow the strength in light and beauty and mystery keeps me focused.

Karl thank you...always try to make it a true collaboration with the model, in that we both are pleased and comfortable with the images we produce. Although 1st time shooting with this model we really were in sync.
This was second to the last image of the day, actually several before this were supposed to be the last but asked for just a couple more. Model had been lying back on the settee and asked her to sit up on the edge and lean forward and give me a look. This was the result. Didn’t initially start to process this dark but after a couple of adjustments it’s the way the image took me, and I just built on it.
