I will leave the political part out of the frame as it is not good for the soul.
And on the picture side, this is a wonderful series, love the cute little ones.

Amazing images! Things will hopefully improve soon and we can get back to some semblance of normal.
Thank you everyone...we indeed were fortunate to have been able to do this just as the world was turning upside down. On the flight home a man wearing an N95 type gas mask strode down the aisle.....what an odd sight it was....but sadly, it is now all too commonplace. And now to be confronted by not only an invisible enemy but one as plain as day...it gives me chills.
The opposite of love isn’t hate it’s ambivalence...evil wins when good men do nothing.
Ciao
Eric
Nice ones as usual with your pictures. Where were these taken and please tell the story of how you were able to take them. Theses animals are usually super shy.

Thanks...these were from Chile...it’s a special place to see these cats.

yes the photography does that for me as well. Though I have to admit, riding the horses do it even more. But the key in both is, I get to get out in Nature and enjoy the splendor of Nature and see wildlife etc so both have such healing power for my soul
The US needs healing and lets hope we can now start that. But, I do feel it's important to remember that with covid-19, the healing extends over the whole planet and there's healing needed all over.

Stay healthy and strong and we'll prevail

You are fortunate to have a few outlets and in the past, for me, it was golf.....I was a range rat and spent many many hours just practicing....it was almost zen like and helped me forget the events of the day. But a good day for golf was even a better day for photography so that eventually took over.
Agreed that the health crisis is not just in our town, city or country but as it is correctly described, a pandemic. There are challenges ahead that I hope we are up to. The pandemic has shown that no matter how much we try to fortify our borders, what we do here and what is done elsewhere is linked and unlikely to remain confined.
Great pictures. I met a ranger in Yosemite backcountry a few years ago who was on exchange from Patagonia. He commented on how the Pumas come right up to his cabins in Chile.. The only signs of mountain lions I have seen in the Sierra's have been scat or the decapitated head of a hare.

Since hunting of pumas in Chile has decreased dramatically they have become much more habituated to humans. It was a privilege to spend time with two families without any sign of aggression from either group which allowed for us to photograph some very special moments. In fact the most aggressive action was by a photographer from another group who felt it appropriate to toss rocks at the cats to try to get them to move.
Eric
I spent 30 minutes on the phone recently with Charles Munn. I remember your saying that you used him for the pumas. Very helpful. Now to find the time and money. Probably late this year or ?

By the way- love your puma photos.
Thanks....it is a totally different way to shoot cats and we got very fortunate with the family groups.

These photographs took some real skill Eric. I am constantly in awe of what I see on the internet lately. With these photos, it's a good kind of awe.
Pat
Thanks Pat...it helps to have a good guide and spotter that knows the terrain as well as just how close one can approach both for safety sake and not to cause the pumas to run away.

and I understand. Healing is what we all need across the planet actually.
Personally I'm dealing with the fact the my young horse will spend up to a year standing as I've again torn my ACL and now also my meniscus. I don't even know when I can have surgery. Before when I had a horse retired or healing etc., I had my photography. Now there's no way I can even consider doing either. Disheartening and makes me sad

So, healing for all of us

Oh Lil....I’m so sorry to hear about your injury😢. Info hope you can get your surgery sooner than later and get rehabbed so you can get back in the saddle. The uncertainty of when you will be able to regain mobility must be so frustrating. Wishing you get this taken care of very soon...the past year has been so difficult and no one needs more on their plate right around now.
Please let me know how you are faring and when you get scheduled.
🙏🏻
Eric
