I just picked up a Z6 with FTZ adapter. As I was playing with some of my glass I discovered my beloved Sigma 180mm f/2.8 macro won't play with the camera. I have already contacted Sigma. I believe a firmware update is all I need. Strangely enough, my Sigma 150mm f/2.8 OS works fine .... and I have had it far longer. Just sharing.

My Tamron 150-600 won't auto focus either. But, my el-cheapo Yongnuo 35mm f/2 will. Go figure
I have a Sigma 50 Art that doesnt like the FTZ either. My only Z is a Z50 and the Sigma does focus but will not transition gracefully from MFD to infinity or back. I have to focus on interim objects to get it moving. Kind of like ratcheting the focus along. It is accurate once it focuses though. I haven’t looked into firmware updates as I don’t really plan to use it on the Z anyway. Was just playing when I noticed this.
I heard back from Sigma. They should be able to update the firmware for the 180mm if I send it in. I didn't ask if this was a lens I could update myself if I purchase a dock (or find someone to do it for me).

There is no dock compatible with this lens. Take Sigma up on their offer.
Addition to my story. After playing with the Z6 around the house a few days, I decided I really wanted the Z6 II. So, I returned it and got a Z6 II kit instead. Here's the weird part. My Sigma 180mm f/2.8 OS wouldn't focus with the Z6. It works on the Z6 II , though. I also had a Sigma 50mm f/1.4 HSM that was acting up on a few bodies - works great on the Z6 II. In fact, it looks better than it ever did with 3 previous bodies I used with it.
The great news is that I don't have to send in any lenses ...... right now, anyway.

I have the older HSM model so no firmware updates available. I was told they could update the 180mm macro. But, since it works with the Z6 II I will just use as is.
I had also picked up a Godox TT685n that wouldn't fire at all on my Z6 II. I was able to update the firmware myself (only on a Windows system) and now the flash works great.
