Shaun is the husband of one of my headshot clients. While I was preparing the studio for his wife while she was getting ready, I had him sit in for a light test and this is what we got.
Shot using the original Canon 5D with a Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro USM lens attached set to f/11, 1/160th sec, ISO 100. Lit with a single Neewer C300 flash and 20x28 soft box.

That's a fine portrait, Daniel! For my taste, the WB seems to be a bit off; a tad too green.

Thank you. The green is something I tend to like to add; I enjoy the way it looks with the warmer tones in skin. It's a fairly polarizing detail in my portraits though. Many like it, and many also do not.
Well done! Being a person of color, I really appreciate how you did not over expose the image. I would have liked to see a little more separation from the background. However, that’s subjective. Great work, and thanks for sharing.

Thank you, and thanks for taking the time to give critique.
Dark skin on a dark background can be tough. Consider a backlight/rim light next time. That said, I think it is a fine portrait, as well as could be done with a one light setup. FWIW 🙂
