p.1 #1 · Godox and Flashpoint firmware - interchangeable?
I know the Godox and Flashpoint flashes are all the same hardware - but I'm wondering if their firmware is identical as well, or if Adorama changes numbering at all. I picked up a V1 (well, a Flashpoint Li-ion X R2...because that's so much easier to say, right?) for my Canon bodies, as I love my V1 for Sony, and it is on firmware version 1.4. The latest firmware on the Godox site is v1.6, while the latest version on Adorama's Flashpoint firmware site is only 1.3....a version behind what my flash came with. So I'm wondering if the version numbers are the same between the brands, and if updating to v1.6 would go as smoothly as it should given the same hardware.
p.1 #2 · Godox and Flashpoint firmware - interchangeable?
In case anyone is wondering - I don't know about the flashpoint version numbers in comparison to the Godox, but installing the Godox v1.6 certainly works just fine.
p.1 #3 · Godox and Flashpoint firmware - interchangeable?
I wondered the same thing. Just received the Fuji version Flashpoint V1. Didn’t think to check if there was any updated firmware. Pretty sure I recall that my Sony 860 fired when I used the Fuji transmitter and my Fuji Godox / Flashpoint units fired via the Sony transmitter too.
p.1 #7 · Godox and Flashpoint firmware - interchangeable?
Confirming that the Godox V860IIN v1.9 firmware worked on my Flashpoint Li-On R2 N.
It was a pain because I had to disable driver signing, but worked eventually. The Flashpoint v1.9 software did not allow TTL to work with my Z8. Godox v1.9 firmware works better. Still not ideal, but I can have some semblence of normalcy, I just have to change setting d8 (View mode (photo Lv) to "Adjust for Ease of Viewing" or "Show effects of settings only when flash is not used".
