Birdie, thank you very much!

Joshua, technically very well executed again, but as I said about 7 months ago in your other thread about Bali already: I wish you would show us some "real life" images from the island instead of these mostly staged (except #5) ones. The above is a beautiful travel catalog version of Bali.

Phil, thank you very much! The set of images is pretty much how I see Bali and how I like to portray Bali. All the scenes can be seen in the daily rituals and tradition there. What I did was to basically capture those under better circumstances, using better lighting and using more "presentable" Balinese wearing more presentable outfit, for lack of a better expression. I did take "street" and real life images but they do not fall under the category of "rituals and tradition". I can post them later on in a separate gallery.

Yeah, I know. :-)
When I lived in Australia I used to travel to Bali on a regular basis. Fell in love with its culture, with the less touristy areas of the island and also with Ubud. Haven't been back in many years, though, which is why I'm so interested in more recent photos of the daily life on Bali.
Thank you very much! I used a remotely triggered flash placed inside the hut in #1. No flash was used for #2 through 6. I used flash inside a soft box for the main front light and a remotely triggered flash unit behind the tree aimed at the two dancers. And just available light in #8.
