Beautiful shots Scott.
I prefer the 2nd over the first I find the comp flows better with less distraction compared to the first. In the first my eyes keeps getting drawn to the dead trees on the right. Also positioning the small island over to the left with this comp creates a better flow for the FG lead into the main event in my opinion.
That a Big Elk ! neat shot.

Dean

M242: Glad you like 2. Thank you for being honest. I think for me the challenge of a symmetrical picture like 1 is you need to create a flow into the picture to overcome the symmetry. I suspect that you are in the same spot.
Nice! (Still not sure why I can’t just like the original post...). My own critique is that it should have been lower perspective (more river leading in) but I was fussing with new camera (R5), new nd variable adapter, and standing in water without falling. Thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
zurura: Glad you like 1 and its colours. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
mrcolin2u: Glad you like the images. I Brough my boots and I am going to try it again tomorrow. It (Fairmont and area) are a fantastic spot. Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
DSC01: Thank you for the very detailed input on 1 (and liking my elk) . I agree the composition is better in 2. I was drawn to 1 for the colour in the river. Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
