So hard to pick a favorite, third image just melted my monitor! do you find any difference in the focusing speed between the R5 and A9?
Thanks Juan.
There are some differences with focusing speed. But it goes both ways.
If you just stand around and test focusing on different things, near, far, near, far etc then the R5 is snappier a lot of the time.
However, when I try to quickly react to a BIF I find the A9 to be quicker at seeing the erratic subject (or may erratic movement that may not line up the subject very well).
But also with the R5's Animal Eye Detect I can quickly raise the camera for a perched bird that may only stay there for a second or two and it can quickly get the eye detected allowing composing and a few shots fired before the bird moves off the perch.
So there are pros and cons to both systems. I think A9 is still the king for tracking an erratic BIF where the R5 won't be able to find the eye anyways. But for a slower BIF like a big heron then the R5 is nice as it does find the eye and then avoids the near wing. Also the EVF experience with the A9 is still a little easier to track along with a bird. Although the R5 in ES is pretty close but there is still some bit of lag from the slideshow whereas the A9 is a live feed with only signal lag. But otherwise the R5's EVF is much more detailed and nicer to look through other than when having to pan along fast.
