An excellent set of photos, every one. The lighting and weather may have been a handicap, but you clearly overcame it all.
You talk about some of the things you learned during your week. The wolves also clearly learned, too. Wolves are famously shy of humans, and yet you spent a week with them. You obviously must have communicated somehow that you were not a threat, and they received and understood that message. Otherwise, you'd have seen them only once.
Very well done in a lot of ways. (I like your idea of classified information, too.)
You know Bob, you’re spot on with your comment about animals “reading” you so to speak. We did use hides but they 100% knew we were there. Other times we didn’t use the hides and they still accepted us. Although it’s easy to get excited, it’s crucial to remain calm and move slower. Often I pretend to be interested in something else. The last two images posted were taken outside the blind. The wolf came closer on its own. They’re so intelligent.
Nice to know guys like shoot them and don't hurt them These are fabulous buddy and give me goose bumps, what an experience and thanks so much for sharing them and NOT their location!

Sad to hear they are hunted with no restriction

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense - the hunting part. Only way to shoot them is with a camera.
Liked your narrative as much as your photos. Thanks for keeping the location undisclosed. Were you pretty much staying in the same area as them? Or were you somehow following them as they moved on?

Thank you kindly. We remained in one place the whole time. We didn’t want to push them and we also wanted to be predictable. Having 7 pups to look after was likely stressful enough for them. So we wanted to be visible but as low key as possible. We were ignored and investigated and I consider that a very good sign.
Very nice Henrich - wolves are very exciting. I have been in the middle of a wild pack several times and the social interactions are fantastic to watch. Its often a time where photography is secondary. Coastal wolves are on my list - so I am jealous.
