I love the diversity of Ecuador and Costa Rica. Such unique wildlife and so glad to hear they are inviting tourism back into their countries.

I thought I'd share a little bit of everything in this post.

Buff-tailed Coronet

Long-tongued bat by night

Plate-billed Mountain Toucan

Broad-billed motmot

Howler monkeys are aptly named. In the rainforest, their cries can be heard from more than three miles away.

Fiery-throated hummingbird

Velvet-purple Coronet hummingbird

Red-eyed tree frog, always one of my favorite species

Violet-tailed Sylph hummingbird

This is a beautiful and varied set Matt. I think is see flash use in quite a few of these and I love the colors.

Been there in 2015 and 2014 respectively in cheap/off season tours with entry level gears. Your nice pics reminds me of the exquisite time over there although my captures were mostly so-so, some were quite passable. Thanks for sharing.

Great stuff Matt beautiful set. Love the pose of the White Faced monkey in #3 . I've been a couple of times and would like to go again when things get better.

Thanks Morris. I try to mix my multi-flash, and natural light with the goal that folks can't tell which is which.

Thank you. A couple years ago I shot frogs there, got a new macro lens the next month, and couldn't wait to go back and reshoot everything..

Thanks Dave. They monkeys are fun but crazy critters. They will grab your sunglasses and run up a tree holding them for ransom for food. They have figured out the tourist trade.
