At 4,000 ft elevation it snows here in winter, but not every year.
There was very little rain this summer, the monsoons came but didn't bring much water to the land.
Still these green bushes survive.
The monsoon clouds sometimes offer just minutes of a sprinkle that touches the ground, most of it evaporating before making contact.
It wasn't my first time at the spot, but it's never the same. The blooming of the barrel cactus means it was within a 30 day period each time (2018 follows, 2020 was the first picture)
Sometimes the last minutes can really change the overall tone to too much red, I have preferred in the past pictures a few minutes earlier (at a different spot)
