It's definitely special and enjoyable to have clouds like that for finding photos, when the light changes, sun going in and out, a little wind.
In Colorado fall even midday can be productive with clouds like that.
One aspect I enjoy a lot is in the 3rd photo. The distant grove in the center at the base of the mountain. It complements nice with the stream tucked away in the corner. Bet that one looks exceptional large.
I find the creek special too, a subtle addition to the picture.
This was outside of the golden hours but the location is surrounded by tall mountains, and special clouds don't happen often enough

The first picture happened after hours of overcast an no direct light, many times cloudy days in southwest have minutes of sunlight peaking through just before the sun sets behind the mountains or the horizon. Hoping for best can pay off in many cases, when the overcast is not too strong, or in the mountains when the clouds move quickly.
