If you host elsewhere, you can just type in the URL of the photo if it ends with .jpg.
If you have a Flickr account, somewhere on this site there are instructions for how to share photos hosted there.

I’m using an iPhone and the Flickr app. The instructions in this thread don’t seem to work at for me. I can’t find bbc or a url ending .jpg

I haven't been able to get a BBC code on a phone. You'll probably have to use a regular computer.

Thanks for the help. My issue was down to using a phone - you can't get the bbc code. On my Mac it works fine

To the best of my knowledge the “URL ending in jpg” method does not work for Flickr-hosted images. If I’m wrong, I’ll be happy to see the explanation of how to do that with Flickr images.

Every photo I share on FM proves this is wrong.
In fact, posting only the URL is the preferred method these days because it’s the only way to post a responsive photo that doesn’t stretch anybody’s screen horizontally.
You have to click the "download" button on a flickr image, view all sizes, click on an appropriately sized option, right click the image that loads, and copy the image url ("copy image address" in chrome).

@RoamingScott@ I'll have to try that method to get a link since assignments won't work using BBC code. I've just been pulling the link out of BBC. I believe you are "supposed" to use the BBC code per TOS because Flickr uses it though

That is new information for me. Let’s give it a try:
Hey, it works. A little bit cumbersome compared to grabbing the URL from my own online presence, but easier than the old recommended method of linking Flickr photos.
