Hi folks. I have been lurking the NW forum for many years, admiring all the great works. I have only posted once or twice in the past because I feel my stuff is not worthy. Wildlife is not a big part of my photography hobby. Encouraged by Joshua (AGeo), I am posting a couple recent shots of a green heron family. I have gone to the nest quite a few times the last couple days. The chicks are almost fledgling.
These were shot with the Sony A7RIV and the 200-600. C & C are welcome and appreciated.
These are breathtaking and you've really nailed the species here. If you're interested, I study these birds, and have written about them and photographed them. My photos aren't half as good, but I still think you might enjoy my piece "The Green Heron: Final Thoughts." Keep up the good work. I may be in touch. Dave

Wow!
I do not believe I’ve ever seen a wildlife series as exciting as this one.
Yes, the Green Heron (is this what they call them now?) is precocious, not shy at all. But you've captured every element to perfection here
Congratulations!
Robert
Thank you very much, Robert!

Fantastic shots of some seldom seen activity (for me at least), and the rim lighting really adds to these beautiful shots.
Gary
Thank you, Gary! It was my first time to photograph green heron so closely. A friend told me there was this green heron family at the lake so I went over a couple times. I wish I had known it early so I could see therm when they were younger. Maybe next year.
