p.1 #1 · Sigma FE 105mm f1.4 Art compatible with 2x Teleconverter Sel20TC ..
I'm surprised there is no talking about this Portuguese Video contribution I link to here below.
I did not try to have it translated to me yet (perhaps someone here will tell us what (if) I'm missing from my guesses :
That it works, even well, provided one removes the rubber ring (easily and reversibly) from the Sel20TC.
Then It seems to me he says that one can overcome some initial miscommunication to the camera by switching on of the AF button on the lens (perhaps also restart reboot the camera..?).
Then in an answer of his to a comment below the video he seem to claim something like "no image-quality-loss".
Anybody else here with experience or knowledge about this - or could try it out - etc ?
Sony Teleconverter SEL20TC + SIGMA 105MM 1.4 DG HSM Art OR SIGMA 135MM 1.8 E-Mount

No, the TC doesn't fit behind the lens to function properly. You have to add an extension tube in between to make it work but you loose the infinity focus but you can focus closer than what the actual minimum focusing distance of the lens without the extension tube. For the purpose of using the lens as a portrait lens, there is simply no need for the TC, IMHO.
I tried to evaluate what would be impact of removing baffle by comparing with Nikon mount Sigma 135 on manual E-mount adapter. I could see that bright LED just outside of field of view had much more impact on adapted lens that is missing the baffle (though reflection off adapter could be also involved). https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1588217/15#14798050
BTW, Sigma reported that it does not have licence to produce TCs for E-mount, it does only for E-mount lenses. So its new 100-400 DN has TCs for L-mount, but no TCs for E-mount from Sigma and the Sony ones do not work.

I just know that it doesn't fit. I am not implying anything and frankly, I didn't watch the video clip since I do have the lens and tried it before.
The video shows you have to remove the front rubber gasket from the 2x to make it fit. From what I can tell, it only works in MF. No AF.

It's cool and all, but the Sigma 180/2.8 is really well corrected, less weight than the 105, and plays well with the MC-11 (at least in single shot). Plus you're not stuck with a 1m MFD.

He says that the AF does not work and that for the aperture to be displayed he needed to turn off/on the camera and switch off AF on the lens barrel as well.
Also, when having the TC20 it shows as f/1.8 and no longer f/1.4 (does not give any comments why).
His opinion is that Sigma could potentially release a FW update that would make the lens compatible with the TC, to fully communicate between lens and body via TC.
If your use case is solely to extend the focal length and use it via manual focus, it is a pretty quick fix by simply removing the rubber band on the TC.
Yet to be determined is how image quality is affected though.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TRANSLATION !
Perhaps f1.8 is correct because less transmission ?
Somewhere in the comments he responds that the image quality is as good as perfect (if I may interpret this way that he says "no quality loss" or similar).
I had not understood that the AF gets lost. Thank You for this important info.
And THANK YOU for not in any way(!) downplaying and discrediting that vidéo !
The author is probably right by saying Sigma could find a fix. Sad they don't.
For manual focusing at f1.4 this is not going to be worthwhile for my use.
