Many of you have asked me about my "art series" captures of hummingbirds in Costa Rica.
Tired of getting the same ̶b̶o̶r̶i̶n̶g̶ inflight hummingbird shots every time, I started photographing hummers in the same "ultrasharp sick mode" (I´m coming from the macro world and I can´t live without it) but adding the extra topping of continuous light into the ecuation.
Slowly, and after many attempts I finally started getting what I wanted: sharpness where it had to be, and a more ethereal look or approach in the rest of the animal..
Hereby a set from my trip to Ecuador with the same mix of techniques, hope you like it!
PD: I´m actually working on the same approach with the kingfishers, trying new things hopefully never ever seen before

Love the artistic nature of these. Looks like someone brought a butter knife to a sword fight in "Fighters"

Thanks, that was the whole purpose of my "experiment", give sense of movement while freezing motion and retaining sharpness.
Can't wait to get back to Costa Rica or Ecuador and keep shooting!
