I'm reluctant to get the equipment and software to handle 8K. I have a 5D MK IV and 4K is nothing I want to edit.

I'll be interested to hear what it takes to do 8K, I have a R5 on order, and may want to take a few short 30 sec clips to test out frame extraction. Will Canon include a basic utility?

It plays nicely in FCPX on my 6K display. I could get used to this quality. Not sure I can get used to the data rate

It does look good. It's also a static subject, which should be optimal for frame grabs. Motion blur due to the 1/60 shutter speed will be less of a problem.
