p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Outdoor Photographer

I had no idea where to post this so I hope this is OK here. It seemed reasonable; being landscape photography.

I am an Outdoor Photographer subscriber. Recently I received an e-mail from them that 'due to covid' they are 'temporarily' shifting publishing to online through emagazines. According to the emagazine site "Read online or offline. Be available anywhere to readers, including on flights." This is important to me because I seem to read the magazines mostly while flying (not lately!) or camping. Either way, 'offline' is important to me.

I have tried to figure out how to download the magazine to read offline but have been unsuccessful in my efforts so far. I have sent e-mails to OP and emagazines but neither have responded. Frankly, I am not surprised by the non-response from OP as they have absolutely horrendous customer service. I was hopeful that perhaps emagazines would respond.

Anyway, I am hoping somebody here is also a subscriber to OP and has figured out how to download and read offline. Anybody?

Thanks

I was mailed a link that opens the online version. I cannot download it but have to be online to read it. I think I looked at the online version for less than 5 minutes. I have subscribed for a few years and this is a good time to let my subscription end. It seems like a great many of the articles are all but ads for gear and the actual articles are typically rehashes of the same old stuff. Even the issue themes just seem to recycle each year. The mag has gotten stale and it is past time for them to start over with new editors and staff writers.

I won't disagree with what you say, but perhaps the degree with which you describe the malady. I still find some good content in it, whether it is gear reviews, review of key new features in PS, LR, etc, or location articles.

I too got the link to the online version. As mentioned though, I often don't have internet access when I get some time to read the magazine and emagazines indicates I should be able to read their content online. Unfortunately, given the absolutely pathetic customer service (this is not the first terrible experience with that), I am turning to others in hopes of finding a solution.

As an aside, as somebody who lives outside the US, I find some of their policies very annoying. Like limiting contests to US citizens. Or charging me nearly double for the magazine because of mailing costs and then switching to online delivery only.

Figured I would bump this once in hope of somebody knowing how to get this magazine to work offline. Thanks.

I tried to subscribe a few years ago and had no success in getting the magazine issues. I cancelled and got a refund.

I had a subscription quite a few years ago. Ended up canceling after a little over a year. Not a bad magazine but they started to repeat some of the topcis.
