I don't know about you all but I decided to get out of my house (more often and further), and do more outdoor activity in the last couple of months. Now I know Covid-19 is still going strong, and more people is getting infected each day, but parks are slowly opening and I decided to escape the harsh reality (even if for a moment) and camp (for a few days) up in the Ansel Adams wilderness, Sierra Nevada. All trails have finally opened this month so I hiked all the way to Ediza lake camp grounds (some still not accessible because rivers are so full of water it's simply impossible to cross them). When I arrived the Minarets were hiding in the clouds (for three days) so I didn't have a chance to take a good shot of the peaks, but along the way I shoot close ups (icicles and Corn Lilies) and just enjoyed the hike.
The gates to trailheads were still closed at the time of my hike (I think they just opened them on 26th) so I had to park about 3.5 miles further away from the trail head and hike this extra distance. It was a bit strenuous because now a 15 miles hike became 22 miles with total of 4500 feet elevation change (round trip). Bare this in mind (and river crossing) if you decide to go there now, and don't forget a strong Mosquito repeller!
The shots of Bristlecone Pines were shot in White Mountains. And, the shot of silhouettes of mountain peaks from Sierra Nevada I shot at sunset while driving 395.
These are fantastic Gregg, a treat to watch. Loved the first shot of the pines. That light on the foreground is amazing - is it all light from the night sky?
Also, loved the image of those green leaves. Great work mate.
