I was blessed with a visit from 3 rubies these past 2 days ! What a much needed surprise and diversion from all the mess going on in the world .
It appears there was a juvenile male and a two females.
In the past , I either had no luck growing some of these flowers , or no luck with the hummers being attracted to them.
If one keeps trying and is patient long enough it works out
Such a joy to see them hit the fuschia in the hanging basket and the one crocomisia tuber that has finally bloomed.
It has been a good couple of days
I do hope you enjoy . I appreciate any comments and suggestions.
Thank you so much for looking,
Birdie
This quote makes me think of the hummingbirds .
“I am so glad you are here. It helps me realize how beautiful my world is.”
— Rainer Maria Rilke
Costa Rican hummers better watch out now! Those are gorgeous and impressive hummer images, Birdie! I chose #1 and #4 as my favorites but I looked at the entire set again and again, and I ended up not being able to make up my mind; they are all equally exquisite.
Wow birdie... these are all stunning! I absolutely love the 4th image.
I completely understand the exhaustion with life right now... too much bad news and instability. Way to make good use of the small joys that we occasionally get to experience!

Matt, thanks for looking in. I appreciate the kind words.
These are wonderful Birdie; we should be getting our usual Rubies any day now as breeding farther north should be ending. Our salvia flowers are open and waiing...
