I retired years ago. Now it is easier to unlock a safe than to fight with insurance co's or pulling out the bankbook to buy replacement gear. Once again I find myself explaining everything to another fm busybody. Case closed
I use the Damp-Rid product to keep my stuff safe from mold and fungus and it costs me $20 a year in replacement desicant packets. I don't need power in the cabinets where I store everything. Once a week I pour out the water from the containers and check the desicant condition.
Before I started using Damp-Rid I had a lot of leather and nylon cases and straps damaged and the potential for lens problems.
