Having owned all native 2.8 normal zooms and 24-105 f4 (multiple times), I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of Tamron 28-200. Granted I have only played around with it at home, I really like the AF and output. IQ looks very good not only for a super zoom but for a (relatively cheap) lens that punches way above it's cost. So much so that I've sold Tamron 70-180 and Sigma 24-70 f2.8 and replaced it with this lens.
This on A7rIV, so on lower mp bodies it should be even better
Here's one from the Beartooth.
I'd view this one in Flickr where you can click in twice after it loads.
I took 5 images with the a7Riv in vertical position, then stitched them at home.
I was sitting there near the drop off bored waiting for the mountain goats to arrive.
I'm definitely a prime lens guy, but I picked this up as something I can take on day outings with my son where lens changes can be difficult.
After the first outing, I'm tentatively impressed. Even wide open at 200mm it seems to preform pretty well. I only got a handful of shots in before the rain started, but my initial impression is Tamron did a solid job with this one.

Nice images mudlake. That first one at 179mm @ 1/100 seems nice and sharp - do you find IBIS works well at the longer focal lengths?
I'm finding I have to be very careful at the longer focal lengths. To be sure, I usually shoot 2-3 images. If this lens were the same size and had image stabilization, it would be killer. As it is, IBIS works, but it's no sure thing.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I shoot only primes, but am looking at either this or the 28-75 for a versatile option when needed. Leaning towards the 28-75 mainly for the constant 2.8 they will be closer to what I’m used to with the primes, but the range of the 28-200 definitely peaks my interest.
Nice images Jonathan!! Question after watch all youtube videos... How it renders portraits at 135/180? Sorry if it was answered before, I´m about to pull the trigger...

I use it more as a general photography lens when I don't feel like hauling around my portrait primes. You can use it for portraits, but it'll render how you'd expect a variable aperture zoom lens to function. It won't be as nice as a fast 1.4 or 1.8 prime that blurs out the background, but you can get nice isolation due to the fairly decent close focus abilities of the lens.
I have been using mine less often as I have been focused on trying to catch birds with my Sigma 100-400, but here is one taken at sunset the other night:
What makes the Tamron 28-200mm FE so unique is the fast aperture and close focus at 28mm f/2.8. This is what sets this lens apart from other super zooms. Also it's nice to see profile corrections with the latest ACR and LR updates!
A few more from this weekend with the A9 + 28-200 -
