The camera and lens were both sent to CANON for repairs:
The lens mount in the camera was off and Communications Error 1 was displayed in the camera.I called Canon Customer Service and as I was on the phone with Canon, they asked me to mount a different lens. I tried to mount the 70-200mm f2.8 IS ll ( absolutely nothing wrong with the lens at that time) and the camera mount made the lens mounting ring bend a little. So, they both were sent to CANON.
Canon basically replaced everything and sent back like new 5D Mark 3 and 70-200mm f2.8 IS ll. The cost of repairs was almost 1000 dollars.
I have all the paperwork from Canon and am keeping it for warranty purposes.
Shutter Count about 10600.
Included are:
Camera Body, Charger, Battery,
Lens, Front and Rear Caps, Hood, Tripod Mount Ring and Case.

I'm interested but confused as to why you'd be keeping the warranty paperwork if you are selling both items? Wouldn't it make sense to pass along the repair paperwork to the buyer?
