I think 9mm would be too wide for me - I'd always be cropping it down. 11mm is a nice compromise, and probably all the "extra wide" I could find a use for beyond the 15mm lens I already own*. A slightly reduced price vs the 9mm is no bad thing.
I hope Laowa come up with a more accurate distortion-correction profile than their current one.
The compactness is superb on the 9mm, and it's impressive that they've gone even further with the 11.

I just ordered the 9amm. Never had a Laowa but I sold the 12-24mm Sony to try the 17-28 Tamron with 9mm combo instead. I figured that with the A7R IV I still get a 13.5mm 24MP image but I am dying to see what I can do with 9mm. Especially since I mostly due portrait work, I am trying to introduce some extreme drama.
We shall see!
My 9mm is in the mail. Curious to compare it with either of my 12 or 15mm FE lenses de-fished. Not sure how they made it this small and, hopefully, as good as the reviews. F5.6 is one of the compromises, a two stop hit from my FE lenses, but for now it’s the only 9mm game in town.
The totally manual nature doesn’t bother me since it’s a zone focus lens and F8 seems to be the sweet spot both for OC and cool sunstars. No trouble IDing it in post since it’s the only UWA I have W/O EXIF (unless I buy their 11mm F4.5).
Seems to be an exterior lens (or multi sec tripod exposed interior) where there’s enough light to allow de-vignetting in post with lower ISOs (to minimize noise). Currently, my home vistas are hazy with, seasonal wildfire smoke. With Adorama’s 60 day right of return (for 360 members) I’m sure I will get a clear day.
Finally, as strange as this may sound, with 61 mP, strategic cropping may be the way to achieve an excellent 10-12mm UWA lens with low vignetting, flat field and high edge to edge sharpness.
