brad has a limited perspective at this point because of what he chooses to shoot. and there nothing wrong with that rather limited perspective. but it is still what that is. when you are shooting in varied venues in life. the tools capabilities really start to show up when challenged. you can tech talk out all you want. but I'm in to getting the shot. do you go to clubs and watch bands play under somewhat limited or wild lighting and environment? do you shoot news shots in crappy lit basements, shooting in a mob or at night w/o flash?

I'm still a bit confused about what you are getting at. Are you saying that you are happy with the ISO performance of current Nikon cameras like D5 or Z6 and therefore it doesn't really matter if the D6 has better ISO or not? Or are you more saying what I mentioned above in that there may be other qualities to the high-ISO performance that could make a difference to your shooting indoors under different light sources? Or am I missing the point entirely?
I think the high ISO performance of the D5 and other current Nikon cameras is best in the industry and should be as good as one needs but certainly there can be these other improvements to the color and blotchy green/purple patterns one gets and how it performs under different light sources. I'm certainly not saying that a lack of grain improvement at high ISO between the D5 and D6 is important to me. Great if they improve it but D5 is so good already that wouldn't affect a purchase decision for me.
