Congratulations Geoff on such a marvelous set and well deserved win. You inspired me to try getting swallows in flight . My results look nothing like yours , but I will try and try again and again and again !
Wow. These are perfect. I can't say any more that hasn't already been said. You show incredible skill.
I recently upgraded to the a9ii and 600mm, but I'm frustrated by the lockdown and spate of rainy weather in Southern California, so I've had few shooting opportunities to try out the new gear on moving subjects. Do you mind sharing what focus mode you're using on your a9ii? Thanks very much for your post showing me what the gear can do if it's in the right hands. Now I'll know that my lesser shots will be me, not the gear.

Thanks
For the swallows I'm using Wide AF (non-tracking), Tracking Sensitivity of 1. I set AF-C to release priority. For swallows I shoot at 20FPS, e-shutter. For most other stuff I shoot at 10FPS, e-shutter.
For most other BIF I use Zone AF.
For the rest I use either S Flex Spot or Expand Flex Spot. I sometimes use Tracking variants of those and sometimes not.
