I'm telling ya. The stuff you can do with $25,000 of camera gear (cnd $$ or $20k US). Wow.
I'm slowly backing away with my m43.
Thanks. But this type of gear certainly isn't required for these types of shots. My D500 and 300PF can handle the swallows just as well and can be had for much, much less. In fact, the 600/4 lens is not my recommended lens for this stuff but was fun to try and better than I expected despite the weight.

Nice set Geoff, where did u find this beauty, if I may ask?
The swallows were at Swan Lake in Victoria. There were a couple days when they were in numbers up to 100 but two other visits since they were in numbers of only 10 or so. They come in waves through that area. I find that I need the numbers to be at minimum 20-30 flying at a time to be able to have enough opportunities to get some shots.

Really nice stuff Geoff, I am amazed at your ability to track these small fast erratic moving birds. Your shots with the colors of the birds and backgrounds have a painterly look to them. Excellent as usual.

Wow this is an incredible set of captures Geoff, needless to say your tracking skillz are very impressive.
1, 4, 7, and the last three shot sequence are my favorites. Top notch work Geoff!
