Plus, great picture of the heron. I never realized they were red meat eaters! Was the hen mallard taken against a busy background? Just wondering if you see improvement in this area over the 1dx mark ii?

Rick, female mallard was against a fairly busy background as you can see the branches blurred in the background. I think there is a big improvement against busy bg's over the II.

These are all excellent images, but the first two are particularly beautiful images. Essentially perfect in-flight images.
